What is Equine Assisted Counselling?

Equine Assisted Counselling has 3 foundational frameworks

General Systems Theory

Experiential Learning Process

Experiential Learning Process

This framework allows for specific details within interactions to be observed and therapeutic areas of focus identified through observable behavioural patterns.

Experiential Learning Process

Experiential Learning Process

Clients learn by participating in therapeutically structured activities. These coordinated interactions encourage engagement, exploration and enlightenment. Positive change can constructively occur while translating new insights into action.

Client Centered Approach

Experiential Learning Process

Client Centered Approach

The counselling team guides the session according to the client’s process. The guided activity provides an opportunity for behaviour to be expressed. The counselling team is then able to explore the process, where the client links behaviour and patterns back to their own life.

This foundation is established with the help of the counselling team
